3rd Day Post Op

Doug continues to slowly improve; his oxygen level and red blood cells are still a tad low but not so low that they are concerned. He continues to be on and off the oxygen tube and they have given him iron for his red count. He is retaining more liquid than they’d like so he was put back on lasiks and they seems to help.

He had the fun experience of a suppository today. His breathing is getting better using the spirometer (see below) and his lungs are getting back to normal. His appetite remains low but again, to be expected.

He is doing the walking and the breathing exercises and is in good spirits. Dr. will decide if he goes home Sunday or Monday when he sees him tomorrow.
